Informed Consent
This page sets out what you agree to when you train at PURE Movement: the risks of exercise, your consent to assessment and coaching, how we handle your information, and what we expect in the studio. It mirrors the client agreement you sign as part of your membership — reading it here first means no surprises. The signed agreement is the full and binding version; if anything below is unclear, ask us before you start.

Consent to assessment and treatment
Assessment and sessions at PURE Movement may include physical training (such as resistance training and corrective exercise), massage-therapy techniques, and electrical muscle stimulation. We make sure you understand the benefits, any side effects and the risks of each method your coach uses. During a session your coach may need to guide or position your body to assess how you move and to check your technique and alignment — we ask your permission each time. You confirm you are in good health to take part and that you have told us about any pre-existing conditions or concerns. We may ask for medical clearance if we think it is needed.
Social media
We use social media to market PURE Movement and as a coaching and education tool. Coaches may take group photos or video during sessions for promotional material or online use — including our website, case studies, and channels such as Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. Any close-up of an individual is published only with that person's permission. Once content is online it is in the public domain. If you would rather not be included you can decline at any time, and you can ask us to remove past, present or future content featuring you — though completely erasing already-shared content can be difficult. Unless you ask us to keep it for marketing, we remove identifying information as much as possible.
Privacy policy
We protect your privacy in line with the Privacy Act 2020. We collect information about your health history, physical condition and function, and related details so we can assess your needs, talk through your options, and train you safely. Everything you share is kept confidential — the one exception is the payment information needed to set up direct debit, which goes to a trusted third-party provider — unless you ask us to share it or the law requires it. Your information is held in secure storage accessible only by PURE Movement Ltd. We need your permission to release any of your details, or to request information from your other health providers. To see or change your information, contact us directly.
Release of liability
Physical exercise carries inherent risks, including injury and illness. You take part in activities at PURE Movement voluntarily and at your own risk, and you agree not to hold your coach or PURE Movement Ltd responsible for an injury or the aggravation of an existing condition. If you have a medical condition, you confirm you have checked with your doctor that training is appropriate for you. It is your responsibility to tell your coach about any health issues or medications relevant to exercise, to say if there is anything you are not comfortable doing, and to stop and tell your coach straight away if you feel anything unusual — pain, chest discomfort, nausea, difficulty breathing, or a possible injury. None of this limits any rights you have under New Zealand law that cannot be excluded.
Attendance and rescheduling
Your free week and coached sessions run by appointment. If you need to move or cancel a session, let us know as early as you can. Members can suspend a membership for up to three weeks in any 12-month period; suspension requests need at least seven days' notice and are subject to approval. A suspension does not change your membership term or payment schedule — fees resume automatically once it ends.
Payments
Fees are charged weekly. Recurring payments are handled by our third-party provider, Ezypay — by signing up you authorise PURE Movement and Ezypay to debit your chosen payment method for membership fees and other applicable charges, and you agree to keep sufficient funds available on your withdrawal date. Bank transfer is also available. The full payment terms, amounts and your direct-debit authority are set out in the membership agreement you sign. No refunds are given unless agreed in writing.
Termination
If you cancel before your agreed term ends, you will be asked to pay 50% of the amount remaining on your contract, and cancellation requests must be in writing with 21 days' notice. PURE Movement may end a membership for non-compliance, misconduct or non-payment with seven days' notice. No refunds are given unless agreed in writing.
Studio access
Studio and 24/7 member access become available once your coach has cleared you — through a Functional Movement Screen — to use specific equipment unsupervised and follow a set plan. You can always lower the weight or reps or take a break, and you can contact a coach any time with questions or to progress your training. PURE Movement Ltd is not responsible for injury if you train unsupervised outside your set plan. The studio is generally staffed during the day; after-hours access can be arranged in advance. You agree to follow gym rules and safety instructions, use the equipment properly, and respect the space and other members. We have zero tolerance for harassment, intimidation or discrimination, and security cameras are in place.
Personal effects
Anything you bring into the studio is your responsibility. PURE Movement and its coaches are not liable for loss of or damage to your personal belongings or property.
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. By signing your membership agreement you confirm you have read, understood and agree to them.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, ask before you train. Email info@puremovement.nz or call 021 119 6850 and we will talk it through.
